Soothing Star

This story is something that I came up with about two years ago, and just had the time to actually write it (for someone). Wrote this in one seating, but removed the main character’s love interest to minimize the story.

PART ONE

The story sets in the early modernization of mankind’s day to day needs. Inventions with transportation, engineering, agriculture. All thanks to what they call themselves as inventors. They were like gods to humans. Everything that mankind has accomplished, were thanks to these group of people. In the shortest amount of time, they were able to invent and discover the greatest possible things one can imagine.

So the story starts where there was this young kid, named.. uhh.. let’s just say Ben.

Ben’s dad is an inventor. The highest among the highest of ranks within the country. Like other inventors, they are all old. Like really really old. They say that...

Penguini

We were up on a hill,

On the night of the soothing star.

I wrapped my hands tightly around her

Wishing that this night could last forever.

There was a very long pause.

Then she said to me,

I never wanted this night to end.

I never thought you could be more than a friend.

Not so long ago

I met her for the very first time

And not so long ago,

We’d exchange messages that would rhyme.

The soothing star twinkled in our eyes

As we held each others hands tighter

The soothing star calmed our hearts and minds

As the night grew darker.

Not so long ago,

We bonded like there’s no tomorrow.

And not so long ago,

We shared our secrets, our happiness, and our sorrows.

So we were up on this hill

On the day of the soothing star

I wrapped my hands gently around her

Wishing that this day could last forever.

Calmly I replied,

I never wanted this day to end

I never...

Will You Save A Stranger?

It was raining hard that day. I was driving my way to the city. At front is another car that was driving a little faster. Kind of dangerous on this kind of weather, I thought.

We were driving on a hill, about 1 or 2 miles away from the office. We were then closing to a sharp curve. Below the curve is a 50 to 60 foot drop. I hit the brakes and slowed down. I was ready to take the turn.

..the car on front of me however, did not seem to slow down at all. It seems like the car was out of control!

It continued moving forward and then lunged towards the drop.

I was having dinner with my close friend when he told me this story. I asked him, “What happened next?”.

He then told me the next part of the story.

I pulled over to inspect. It was still pouring hard, making me unable to see clearly.

Luckily, the car seemed to hang on to a big branch of a tree that was growing horizontally on...

Rewriting Your Own Story

There is this short story that I wrote when I was in high school. Sadly, I have no copy of my own story. The only copy is stored in a room on our school, some 10 to 12 hour-drive away. It’s been at least a decade since I read it.

A week ago, I found out that one of my friends in high school has a soft copy of the story. (I don’t know how he got it)

On my way home yesterday, I tried to recall the story.

… and I decided to rewrite the story.

The story was written by a high school student, and some scenes are not that believable.

That night, I got the copy from my friend and then got ready to write.. but first, I must refresh my mind with the story. I read the first page, and then the next..

As I read through the pages, I can see the younger version of me. Very inspired and full of ideas. I can see that the younger me has a very wide imagination…and this story is the proof of it. Many...
